A cold day, yet the light . . .

A cold day, yet the light is brilliant, the winds speak of March on the way, and I think of the gardens returning to new life in spring.  These are a few haiku from recent years.

tree branches
and winter white sky
poem on the page

river of light
along the evergreens
the friends who stayed

blue sky
with cotton clouds

each flower
a star for a time

raindrop sparkles
on green leaf
day of rest

gulls lifting
from the sand
corn an inch tall

fountain in warm rain
reading the Psalms
refreshes my mind
