snow on the fields

gentle growing snowfall
evergreens heavy-laden
and bearing the weight
with such ease

all the fields
that will soon be
corn and soybeans
wheat and wildflowers

prepared for planting

I wrote this poem in 2012, and published it on my Psalms and Nature blog.

The beauty of the fields in the Midwest continues to bless.  The picture of the Marsh Marigold, one of the first spring plants to flower here, is courtesy of Karen’s Whimsy.  This is home, and I enjoy seeing the beauty of many places through our blogs.

Blessings, Ellen
